Set in a future world, everyone will be scheduled to undergo cosmetic surgery when they reach the age of 16, changing from an "ugly person" to a "beautiful" recognized by society. Girl Tally Youngblood has been looking forward to cosmetic surgery and joining society like others to become a "beauty". But after one of her friends escapes, Tally embarks on an adventure that upends her perceptions and everything she had ever wanted.
